The music industry has had a lot of evolution from records to tapes and then CDs and iPods. The next step in this evolution is likely to involve NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) which allow you to view certain events and/or music that you pay for. This allows consumers to view exclusive music like art and creators to get paid their worth. An entrepreneur who is passionate about this and has launched his own cryptocurrency coin to ensure this exists rather than waiting for others is Anthony ‘Antz’ Robb.
Antz got into the world of social media whilst at school. There was a buzz in his classrooms about who could get the most followers on a profile. He didn’t have a phone at the time so he borrowed his friend’s phone and decided to participate with the objective of getting to 10k followers setting up a channel called “I’m Just Bait.” His initial idea was a “shoutout for shoutout” page, essentially a social media page where you share other people’s content and they share yours in return. Whilst this initial idea was doing well one day he decided to post some of the funny videos that he enjoyed watching online. These comedic posts started to gain significant traction he very quickly reached his 10k target.
He continued to post comedic videos then ventured into posting music videos and the growth of the channel continued. Things changed when started receiving offers from brands for paid partnerships. A particularly lucrative partnership with Uber led him to realize that he could turn running his channel into a full time job. Working at Sainsbury’s at the time he quit his job shortly after and decided to commit to building “I’m Just Bait” full time. The channel continued to grow and in a few short years he had amassed a multi million follower count and one of the most culturally relevant Instagram profiles in the U.K.
He also signed a record deal with Sony who recognised his ability to spot and work with new talent and is now using his platform with some other intelligent young men. For this new venture he precisely formed a team which includes Dipesh (Operations Manager), Hanad & Ahmed (Developers) to launch an NFT (Non-Fungible Token) which aims to get rid of the ticketing problem in the music industry with fake tickets. It will eradicate the problem of fake tickets by making each ticket unique using blockchain technology so people cannot get scammed. The team is full of young entrepreneurs all like minded and with the same goal and vision. They currently are testing the Bait platform and hope to bring it to market in the near future. Their unique ‘tokenomics’ future proof the longevity of the project whilst also addressing real world issues through a 2% charity distribution on all transactions and the Bait community is ever evolving and will remain at the forefront of the business.
Plans for the future include community governance on key decisions such as charity partners and strategic partnerships.. Fast forward to present date and they are launching an NFT platform called Bait platform. The platform will disrupt the music industry as we know it. It’s revolutionary design and scope is made to give upcoming and present artists a platform to showcase their art in a way that has never been done before. The concept brings exclusivity to fans and creates additional revenue streams for artists that stems beyond the current streaming platforms.
